Elephant: The sad ivory trade is a big threat to the elephant. The permit granted by the CITES given in 2007 to 4 African countries to sell ivory to China's so-called "legal" gave the green light to poachers and the development of a black market in ivory, now one of the main causes of the disappearance of this ancient animal. The same is true for Asia but with one small difference: they are the only male elephants to have ivory tusks. Their hunting and consequent reduction generates an alteration of population in elephant populations.
